Dr. Dustan A. Barabas, P.C.We do the Act 235 psychological exam on selected Saturdays. The exam is administered by Dustan A. Barabas, P.C., who is a PA licensed psychologist, assisted by his support staff. The next exam date is announced on this website and when you call our number. Our exam sessions begin promptly at 8:00AM. Plan to arrive by 8:00AM. Dr. Barabas’s fee for the psychological examination service is $300. INSURANCE IS NOT ACCEPTED.

NOTE: If you have questions about whether the State Police have your application or your exam results, you must call the PA State Police Lethal Weapons Office at 717-346-7763. Their fax is 717-346-7781.

IMPORTANT: When you reserve your seat, we expect you to show up. If you don’t show up, you forfeit the $300 fee you paid. If you cancel with at least 72 hour notice, a refund will be issued minus a $50 administrative fee. If you need to reschedule, as long as you provide at least 72 HOUR NOTICE that you cannot attend, you may come to a subsequent scheduled exam session. However, you will have to pay a $50 cash administrative fee when you attend. This voucher is good for no more than six (6) months from the date of the exam for which you had registered. Applicants who register here on the website will have their one-on-one psychological interview before people who walk in.

No Shows, No Refunds

When you reserve your seat for the Act 235 exam session, you are making an appointment to show up at 8:00 AM on the scheduled date. We have limited seats. If you NO SHOW, you have deprived someone else of a seat at the exam. YOU CANNOT CALL WITH LESS THAN 72 HOURS BEFORE THE EXAM, OR AFTER THE EXAM AND EXPECT A REFUND.

There are no refunds for no shows. People pay in advance and reserve their seat online to guarantee a seat at the exam session. We also make seats available for drop-ins who pay cash at the session.

As with any doctor appointment, there is a reasonable 72-hour cancellation period, but you have to call no later than 72 hours before your appointment and give notice if you cannot attend. Then you can attend another session. There is a $50 administrative re-scheduling fee you must pay in cash if you come to a future exam session. Your exam registration is only valid for six months.
